The learning need of Michael is to learn when it is a appropriate to hug adult males and when other greeting techniques should be used. This can be tied into content because preschool is the foundation for social skills and interaction. The desired learning outcome for the content being taught is that Michael will be able to interact with unfamiliar males in all settings in appropriate ways.
b. What are the pedagogical strategies being used? Why did you select these strategies?
The pedagogical strategies are modeling and role play because we are including hand motions and interaction. We chose these strategies because they are able engage to four year olds and the repetition will aid in his learning of the concept.

We will be using music and recording devices to create the music and positive reinforcements for shaking hands instead of hugging.
